An impressively strong low pressure system, born in Colorado, caused quite a bit of headaches this week for some, and a nice spring snowfall for others. In my limited time to research this storm, I found some impressive snowfall totals and comments from CoCoRaHS observers.

At this station, we received 0.74" of precip, and 0.4" of snowfall. I had to measure the snowfall on my car because of our high ground temps (in the lower 50s). We received most of our rain from the northern swath of rain that preceeded the passing of the low. As the low passed to our east and northeast, enough cold air was pulled down to give us some sleet then moderate snowfall around 11:00 p.m.

Isn't that loop great? I'm planning on using it in my 7th grade weather unit next year.
Girls are a bit better today. I think the 2 1/2 year old has figured out how to use the phrase "I don't feel very well" to her advantage!!

Don't have my gauge up yet. We are doing some more "spring cleaning" at Tim's on Saturday, so maybe then. He said I could put it up anywhere I want.
It doesn't take long for children to learn the skill of using things (like not feeling well) to their advantage. Time to read the book "The Boy Who Cried Wolf"!!! :)
WxWatcher, ya know... I've never really looked into the comments of the CoCoRaHS observations. I am glad you pin pointed our attention to them in this entry. Hopefully as time moves on I'll remember to browse through them further then just my county. In regards to KS... 28" from one storm. Crazy.
With these four, or is it five, consecutive systems that have and will be rolling through the lower 48... I plan to put a US loop together of their passing. I think it'll be worth it. BTW, I am glad you like the loop. :)
(Speaking of daughters, my almost 5 month old is turning me into an emotional bag of love. haha)

OSNW3..I know what you mean! I've got two little daughters (one's about your daughter's age), and they pretty much rule my life right now...and I wouldn't have it any other way!
