The purpose of this post, however is to share one of the most exciting clouds I've witnessed. On the morning of June 8th, around 11:00 a.m., a rather large complex of storms eased its way southeast. After hearing reports of a wicked shelf cloud 30 minutes ahead of the actual storm, I grabbed the camera and waited outside. I was not disappointed! I made an attemt (my first) at pasting together a panoramic of the clouds, but believe me the picture doesn't do the cloud justice. This was amazing.

You know...that's a good point. I really wish we had trees like at the farm, but we do get some great photo ops from our vantage point. Glad you enjoyed!

I was just checking out your data and decided to check out some of your photos. I was looking thru your EAA photos and remembered PBS had a special on last years EAA. Your pyrotechnics photo reminded me of the PBS program. Sweet stuff.
EAA Oshkosh was a great time. We're sad to miss it this year. The pyrotechnics were awesome, although I wasn't ready for it. I was enjoying the post-WWII fighter planes buzzing overhead when all of a sudden..BOOM!..it took a few seconds to figure out what was going on. :o) When we go again, I'm bringing a camping chair and spend a day by the runway watching planes land. We'll have to do a BBQ, too for sure.
Big heat down here. My blogging/climatology gears have been grinding this week. I need to do a little searching, but I may have figured out a way to keep track of Mid-Missouri's version of "dog days". Once I can get some good library time I'll get that going.
